Senior Director, Payer Programs (Healthcare)

Location: Upstream Building AR Bentonville Home Office, Bentonville, United States

Annual salary: $160,000–$320,000, plus performance-based bonuses and possible stock compensation.

What you will do

• Lead cross-functional teams implementing new payer accounts and large-scale program upgrades.
• Oversee contract negotiations, implementations, and post-implementation activities.
• Build vendor relationships, monitor reimbursement rates, and recommend system improvements.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state healthcare regulations and mitigate program risks.
• Develop strategic business plans, analyze outcomes, and drive continuous process improvement.
• Support contracting strategy with PBMs, payers, and health plans across government and commercial segments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of experience in billing, healthcare, legal, or a related area, or 8 years of relevant experience.
• At least 3 years of supervisory experience.
• Leadership experience directing complex implementation projects and cross-functional teams in healthcare or payer program environments.
• Expertise in negotiating and managing contractual agreements with government and commercial payers.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance and risk mitigation for federal and state healthcare programs.
• Strong strategic planning, stakeholder communication, and process improvement skills.

Nice to have

• Contract management experience.
• Experience working in or with pharmacy benefit management.
• Master’s degree in finance or healthcare.
