Senior Engineering Manager (Renewable Energy)

Location: United States — 100% remote; travel up to 25% for site visits, team meetings, and customer presentations

Salary: $154,200–$223,200 base salary per year, plus benefits and potential performance incentives.

What you will do

• Lead, recruit, mentor, and manage a multidisciplinary renewable energy engineering team in a fully remote environment.
• Own the technical strategy and development of complex, multimillion-dollar energy projects from feasibility through construction handoff.
• Oversee technical audits, solution design, energy modeling, battery dispatch optimization, utility rate analysis, and microgrid resiliency planning.
• Partner with Sales Executives and present technical solutions to customers and C-suite stakeholders.
• Review proposals, system layouts, production estimates, equipment specifications, risk assessments, financial models, budgets, and schedules.
• Support construction, commissioning, project closeout, savings evaluations, and continuous improvement of engineering processes and tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, civil, construction engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 8 years of relevant experience in renewable energy project development, engineering design, or a related field.
• Proven experience leading utility-scale or complex commercial and industrial solar PV and/or battery energy storage projects.
• Strong experience with microgrid design, islanding configurations, grid services, and dispatch optimization modeling.
• Ability to review confidential US security information.
• Advanced capability with utility rate structures and financial metrics including NPV, IRR, and simple payback.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineering license, NABCEP PV Installation or Technical Sales certification, or Certified Energy Manager certification.
• Experience with PVSyst, Helioscope, Aurora, Energy Toolbase, Xendee, and/or HOMER Pro.
