Financial Analyst (Manufacturing)

Location: Remote - Illinois, United States

Company

Manufactures energy-efficient liquid and air cooling systems for data centers, including AI and hyperscale environments.

What you will do

• Own product and customer profitability analysis across gross margin, material costs, manufacturing costs, and margin performance.
• Partner with commercial, operations, engineering, supply chain, project management, sourcing, and finance teams to analyze profitability drivers and recommend actions.
• Develop product costing models, customer profitability analyses, and margin reporting tools for pricing and commercial decisions.
• Perform material cost variance analysis, identify root causes, and drive corrective actions.
• Prepare weekly and monthly cost, margin, and profitability reports for business and finance leadership.
• Support operating plans, forecasts, long-range planning, cost reduction initiatives, and ad hoc profitability projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Data Analytics.
• At least 1 year of financial analysis experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, formulas, lookups, analytics, and financial model building.
• Understanding of income statements, balance sheets, cash flow measures, general accounting, financial analysis, and forecasting.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, communication, data reconciliation, and ability to explain complex data clearly.
• Ability to coordinate work across a complex multi-plant environment and travel as needed.

Nice to have

• Experience with Power BI or other business intelligence tools.
• Experience with Syteline or SAP ERP systems.
• Experience with Planful.
• Cost accounting or standard costing experience in manufacturing.
