Technical Trainer - Cathodic Protection (Natural Gas)

Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States; field, classroom, out-of-town, and remote job sites may be required.

Salary: $78,640–$98,300 per year, based on skills, experience, and education.

What you will do

• Facilitate classroom, shop, and field training programs and evaluate participant performance.
• Train, qualify, mentor, and retrain employees and contractors in cathodic protection and related technical work.
• Provide technical consultation and troubleshooting support for projects and field operations.
• Conduct site visits and model safe work practices across operational areas.
• Design, revise, implement, and evaluate technical training content, schedules, logistics, and effectiveness.
• Research equipment and training data, recommend purchases and budgets, and support the company technical training strategy.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED plus at least seven years of related gas, utility, or oil industry operations or engineering experience in progressively complex assignments; a relevant college degree may replace up to four years of experience.
• At least three years of cathodic protection experience.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work in field and classroom environments, at various job sites, and in hazardous conditions involving high-pressure gas, chemicals, mechanical equipment, heat, electrical hazards, and noise.
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods, perform physical field activities, climb, balance, kneel, crouch, crawl, and occasionally lift more than 50 pounds.

Nice to have

• Adult training experience.
• Steel pipeline welding experience or Certified Welding Inspector certification.
• Pipeline inspection experience.
• Journeyman Gas Fitter License or Commercial Driver’s License.
