Lead Enterprise Architect (Fintech)

Location: Onsite in San Diego, California; remote and hybrid work are not available.

Salary: $185,000–$225,000 per year, plus eligible discretionary bonus targets of 10% cash and 10% restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Design software architecture specifications covering functional and non-functional requirements, including reliability, availability, maintainability, interoperability, testability, and security.
• Apply modern architecture patterns such as microservices, cloud-native, serverless, event-driven, reactive, domain-driven design, API-first, and DevOps.
• Guide and mentor matrixed teams of architects, developers, testers, and DevOps engineers.
• Collaborate with product management, business units, and technology teams to translate customer needs and business opportunities into software solutions.
• Research emerging technologies and recommend frameworks, libraries, tools, and integration approaches, including AI, machine learning, big data, IoT, blockchain, and cloud services.
• Monitor software performance, quality, security, and scalability, resolve risks, and present architecture decisions to stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience and 5+ years of software architecture and design experience.
• Prior experience in banking or fintech and a track record of delivering complex, scalable software solutions for online and mobile applications.
• Expertise across programming languages, frameworks, platforms, and tools including Java, Python, C#, .NET, Node, React, Angular, Vue, Flutter, AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Strong knowledge of software engineering standards and practices including Agile, Scrum, Kanban, code review, testing, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.
• Excellent leadership, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
