TL;DR
Industrial Engineer (Manufacturing): Establishing and improving industrial engineering standards, labor plans, manufacturing data systems, and processes across vehicle and powertrain operations with an accent on labor efficiency, benchmarking, and strategic planning. Focus on managing GSPAS and related manufacturing systems, generating labor estimates, supporting financial and labor-relations processes, and developing IE training programs.

Location: Dearborn, Michigan, United States; hybrid work

Salary: $65,100–$109,300 annually for salary grade 5, or $74,300–$124,500 annually for salary grade 6. Final grade and salary depend on skills, experience, scope, and market value.

What you will do

  • Develop, document, and continuously improve industrial engineering standards, procedures, forms, and best practices for vehicle and powertrain operations.
  • Coordinate IE information-sharing forums and collaborate with plant and staff engineers.
  • Develop Industrial Engineering training programs, including MODAPTS training, and maintain competency and manufacturing-capability matrices.
  • Manage engineered Jobs Per Hour data, re-rate approvals, IE deliverables, labor screens, SharePoint resources, and related manufacturing systems.
  • Prepare labor estimates for cycle planning, capacity and footprint analysis, sourcing decisions, and what-if scenarios.
  • Support labor strategy, benchmarking, financial reporting, system upgrades, continuous improvement, and Labor Relations initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering.
  • At least 1 year of Industrial Engineering or manufacturing operations experience; 6 months of co-op internship experience may count.
  • Experience with GSPAS is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Detailed knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

  • Plant industrial engineering and manufacturing operations experience.
  • Experience with MODAPTS.
