TL;DR

Salary: $92,000–$134,000 annually, plus benefits and potential performance incentives.

What you will do

  • Establish, implement, monitor, and maintain a proactive construction safety culture onsite.
  • Conduct daily inspections of personnel, equipment, tools, and work areas, and verify compliance by employees, subcontractors, and visitors.
  • Lead and document incident, mishap, and near-miss investigations, corrective actions, and stop-work interventions.
  • Deliver worker orientations and ongoing safety meetings, and maintain daily safety records, inspection reports, and regulatory documentation.
  • Participate in pre-construction conferences, preparatory and initial inspections, follow-up inspections, and Three-Phase Quality Control meetings.
  • Coordinate safety matters with project management, quality control personnel, subcontractors, and government representatives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 10 years of documented construction safety experience, including at least 5 years as a Site Safety and Health Officer on USACE or other federal construction projects.
  • Thorough knowledge of EM 385-1-1, OSHA 29 CFR 1926, and applicable construction safety regulations.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Course plus 40 additional documented hours of construction safety training.
  • Eight hours of formal safety-related continuing education annually for the previous five years.
  • Experience with APPs and AHAs, current First Aid/CPR/AED certification, strong leadership and documentation skills, and the ability to review confidential US Security Information.

Nice to have

  • Current CHST, CSP, ASP, CSHO, or equivalent professional safety certification.
  • Experience with USACE, NAVFAC, AFCEC, or other Department of Defense construction contracts.
  • Experience with electronic safety management systems and digital reporting platforms.
