Sr Territory Manager, Specialty Care Business Development (P&C Insurance Senior Production Underwriter - Human Services & Nonprofit)

Location: Remote/work-from-home within the Eastern Time Zone, with responsibility for New York State and regular travel to agency partners throughout the territory. At least 25 agency visits per year are expected; the Mid-Atlantic or Northeast region is preferred.

Salary: $120,000–$213,000 national range; expected starting range $120,000–$180,000 annually.

What you will do

• Manage Middle Market territory relationships with agencies and brokers, focusing on specialty care, Human Services, and Nonprofit accounts.
• Market, quote, price, and underwrite new and renewal commercial lines policies, endorsements, and complex or service-sensitive risks.
• Drive production, profitability, retention, and service objectives through underwriting decisions and agency business plans.
• Analyze market conditions, agency portfolios, underwriting performance, risk quality, pricing, and competitive opportunities.
• Develop sales strategies, pipeline plans, agency appointments, training, and ancillary business opportunities with internal partners.
• Travel to agency partners, conduct agency reviews, support customer service escalations, and mentor Territory Managers when needed.

Requirements

• Multi-line commercial insurance underwriting experience with underwriting authority.
• Human Services and Nonprofit industry experience; highly competitive candidates have at least five years handling these accounts.
• Seven years of progressively responsible commercial-lines underwriting and sales experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Middle Market underwriting, pricing, coverage, sales, marketing, and agency relationship management.
• Strong Casualty expertise, including General Liability, Professional Liability, and Abuse & Molestation, is preferred for highly competitive candidates.
• Ability to work within the Eastern Time Zone, travel regularly across New York State, and hold a valid driver's license with a safe driving record.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• CPCU, CIC, or another relevant professional designation.
