Senior Power Systems Protection Engineer

Location: Lakewood, Colorado, United States; onsite position

Salary: $110,000–$175,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, develop, and implement power-system protection and control schemes.
• Create protective relay settings for transmission and distribution utilities, substations, and industrial clients.
• Assess system requirements and implement protection strategies with project managers, engineers, and technicians.
• Perform system testing and commissioning to validate protection-scheme functionality and performance.
• Apply SEL values, principles of operations, and World Class Manufacturing principles.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a relevant discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in a relevant field.
• Strong knowledge of power-system protection, relay protection and control schemes, and relay coordination.
• Familiarity with IEEE, IEC, and NERC/FERC regulations.
• Proven experience designing and implementing protection and control schemes in utility or industrial settings.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex power-system protection challenges.
