Associate Electrical Engineer (Medium Voltage Power Systems)

What you will do

• Design and deliver medium-voltage electrical infrastructure projects across transport, utilities, industrial, defence and data centre sectors.
• Contribute technical input, design reviews and quality assurance under the guidance of senior technical leaders.
• Resolve technical challenges involving power distribution, substations, protection systems, network integration and power system performance.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, consultants and project stakeholders.
• Contribute to proposals, tenders and technical presentations.
• Support developing engineers through knowledge sharing and capability building.

Requirements

• Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience delivering electrical engineering projects in consulting, utility, industrial or infrastructure environments.
• Experience with medium-voltage distribution systems, typically 11kV–66kV, and zone, terminal or customer substations.
• Knowledge of protection and control systems, earthing, lighting protection and power system modelling.
• Experience with load flow, fault analysis, protection coordination and power quality studies, as well as HV and LV power distribution.
• Strong knowledge of Australian electrical standards, codes and regulatory requirements; proficiency with ETAP, SKM, PSCAD, PowerCad, Revit or similar tools.
