Billing Compliance Educator

Location: Boston, Massachusetts, United States; remote work with occasional onsite attendance

Salary: $93,800–$106,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain billing compliance education programs for physicians, advanced practice providers, coders, reviewers, managers, and revenue cycle staff.
• Create presentations, reference guides, job aids, assessments, and virtual learning modules.
• Deliver live, virtual, small-group, and one-on-one training using adult learning principles.
• Provide onboarding and ongoing education for physicians, advanced practice providers, and staff.
• Partner with compliance reviewers, department leaders, and revenue cycle operations to improve billing and documentation practices.
• Analyze review and compliance data, track training outcomes, and support audits, investigations, and regulatory inquiries.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Health Information Management, Education, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in healthcare billing, coding, auditing, compliance, and/or education.
• Experience in curriculum development, training delivery, and provider education.
• Advanced knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS Level II, billing compliance regulations, and coding guidelines.
• Strong instructional design, communication, analytical, organizational, and presentation development skills.
• One or more required certifications: CPC, CCS, CCS-P, CPMA, COC, RHIT, or RHIA.

Nice to have

• Experience with oncology professional and technical coding, auditing, and billing compliance.
• Experience supporting enterprise billing compliance and audit programs.
• Experience with Epic.
• Experience developing virtual or asynchronous learning content.
