RTL Engineer (FPGA)

Location: Pullman, Washington, United States; onsite at the SEL corporate office

Salary: $136,080–$201,050 per year. The final pay range and title may vary based on experience, training, knowledge, and skills.

What you will do

• Invent, analyze, and design complex analog and digital circuits to meet product specifications.
• Lead hardware design reviews and demonstrate product and circuit robustness.
• Develop hardware and system-level specifications for moderately complex products.
• Write and review test plans, supervise testing, and evaluate results for peer reviews and project documentation.
• Lead multiple projects or programs, prepare plans, and provide detailed labor estimates.
• Lead, mentor, and coach engineers, associate engineers, and technicians during product development.

Requirements

• B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Typically 8+ years of experience in at least two areas: digital design with microprocessors and FPGAs, VHDL/Verilog, FPGA development tools, simulation, synthesis and timing analysis, or verification and validation.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor others.
• Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
• Ability to learn new skills, assume new responsibilities, and work cooperatively in a team environment.

Nice to have

• Supervisory experience or training.
• Knowledge of digital signal processing, control systems, three-phase and electric power systems, or electric utility telecommunications.
• Strong project management knowledge and skills.
