Spacecraft Embedded Software Engineer II (Aerospace)

Location: On-site in El Segundo, California, United States. Candidates must be lawfully authorized to work in the United States and qualify as a U.S. person under ITAR requirements.

Salary: $144,020–$184,026 per year, plus potential stock options and/or long-term cash awards.

What you will do

• Develop reliable firmware controlling spacecraft, satellite buses, and reentry capsules throughout the mission.
• Own software design, development, testing, integration, verification, and validation.
• Capture requirements and perform initial design trade-offs for open-ended projects.
• Build structured bare-metal, RTOS, and Linux-based software for embedded processors in C++.
• Develop highly reliable and available flight software systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, engineering, or equivalent technical experience in safety-critical software.
• 3+ years of experience developing spacecraft or similar safety-critical software.
• Experience developing and testing real-time embedded hardware and software systems.
• Professional C++ development experience and strong knowledge of C++ language concepts.
• U.S. work authorization and U.S. person status are required for access to export-controlled technology.

Nice to have

• Experience with safety-critical software, particularly in aerospace.
• Experience with Python or Rust.
• Strong understanding of computer architecture, operating systems, data structures, and computer networking.
