Medical Biller/Claims Processing - Patient Support Representative (Home-Based)

Location: 100% remote, open to candidates in the United States

Salary: $23.00 per hour

What you will do

• Receive medical claims from healthcare providers and patients and verify required supporting documentation.
• Interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOB) and CMS-1500 forms.
• Evaluate claims against program-specific business rules and determine approval or rejection.
• Support patient and customer inquiries by phone, email, fax, and other communication channels.
• Identify operational challenges and recommend solutions to management.
• Follow HIPAA guidelines, prioritize daily tasks, and meet productivity and quota expectations while working 40 hours per week.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a medical billing program, medical billing degree, or certified medical billing license.
• Experience in claims processing, EOB interpretation, insurance verification, and payment posting.
• Inbound and outbound call center or customer service experience.
• Strong organization and task-prioritization skills.
• Ability to work remotely from the United States.

Nice to have

• Revenue cycle experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
• Experience with secondary and tertiary billing, complex insurance scenarios, or multi-layered billing processes.
