Assistant General Counsel (Securities)

Location: HQ - San Diego, California, United States

Salary: $110,000–$160,000 per year, plus an eligible annual discretionary cash bonus target of 10% and restricted stock units bonus target of 10%.

What you will do

• Draft, review, and negotiate clearing and custody agreements with broker-dealers, registered investment advisors, and other securities-industry counterparties.
• Develop and maintain standardized agreements, forms, and disclosures for securities-industry activities.
• Advise on securities law requirements, corporate governance, regulatory matters, and legal risks.
• Provide practical legal support to Axos Clearing business units in collaboration with internal teams and external counsel.
• Assist with litigation and dispute-resolution processes.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• 3+ years of experience in corporate law, preferably in a corporate legal department or law firm.
• Active bar membership in good standing with no disciplinary history.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, strategic planning, communication, negotiation, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage a diverse and complex workload in a fast-paced environment.
