Director Legal Counsel: Investment Company Attorney (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid role based in Westlake, TX; San Francisco, CA; Austin, TX; or Washington, D.C., DC. Candidates must have authorization to work in the U.S. now and in the future without requiring sponsorship for a U.S. work visa.

Salary: USD $139,600–$280,000 per year, plus eligibility for bonus or incentive opportunities.

What you will do

• Prepare and file prospectuses and registration statements.
• Advise on legal and regulatory requirements for registered funds, including money market funds subject to Rule 2a-7.
• Draft and negotiate agreements with third-party service providers and repurchase agreements.
• Assist with annual, quarterly, and current reports.
• Provide legal guidance on marketing, disclosures, policies, and procedures.
• Monitor regulatory developments, manage outside counsel, and collaborate with business, compliance, and legal teams.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor from a top-tier law school or an advanced degree from a leading university, plus active membership in a state bar.
• 5–10 years of legal experience in a large broker-dealer or asset management firm, or equivalent financial-services law firm, business, or regulatory-agency experience.
• Strong drafting, contract analysis, negotiation, oral communication, and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize work, meet deadlines, and operate independently.
• U.S. work authorization without requiring sponsorship for a U.S. work visa.
