Field Weld Supervisor (Welding)

Location: Clive, Iowa; travel between project sites across the United States up to 75% of the time. The normal work environment is a shop or field setting with outdoor weather, noise, construction equipment, electrical energy, fumes, chemicals, and airborne particles.

What you will do

• Train, onboard, mentor, and evaluate field welders at project sites.
• Lead the Welder Performance Development Process, including milestone progression, performance reviews, feedback, and improvement plans.
• Communicate welding procedure specification requirements and demonstrate welding techniques when needed.
• Inspect welding work, fit-up, joint cleanliness, consumable storage, material handling, repairs, and construction quality for steel tanks, vessels, and structures.
• Verify compliance with drawings, standards, codes, testing, and nondestructive examination requirements.
• Participate in safety activities, document inspections and welder development, and provide reports to Operations and Site Leadership.

Requirements

• High school diploma and 5+ years of industry experience.
• Previous training and development experience, ideally in a field role.
• Certification capability in applicable welding processes such as FCAW, SMAW, and SAW.
• Ability to weld in all positions, set up and explain welding machine settings, operate hirify.global welding equipment, and read drawings and measuring devices.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Teams, plus effective communication and practical mathematical skills.
• Ability to meet client requirements such as TWIC, background checks, and site-specific safety courses.

Nice to have

• Experience with tanks, pressure vessels, or water towers.
• CWI or CWE certification.
