Quality Inspector (Welding)

What you will do

• Inspect welded components and assemblies against engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality standards.
• Perform dimensional checks, visual inspections, and applicable non-destructive testing.
• Identify weld defects such as cracks, porosity, undercutting, and incomplete fusion.
• Use calipers, micrometers, weld gauges, and other inspection tools to verify tolerances.
• Document findings, deviations, corrective actions, and traceable quality records.
• Collaborate with welders and production teams on corrections, root cause analysis, and process improvement.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; welding or quality-control certifications are preferred.
• 3+ years of quality inspection or welding experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Knowledge of welding symbols and ANSI, AWS, and ISO standards.
• Familiarity with GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, and SMAW welding processes.
• Proficiency with measurement and inspection tools, documentation, communication, and basic computer reporting.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including at heights, in confined spaces, and in heat, cold, dust, and noise; regular lifting of up to 50 pounds is required.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with ISO 9001 or equivalent quality management systems.
• Previous welding experience, especially pipe welding.
