Copy Editor - German (Health Science Publishing)

What you will do

• Copyedit and proofread German-language health science, medical, scientific, and academic manuscripts.
• Improve grammar, spelling, punctuation, syntax, terminology, clarity, readability, and consistency while preserving the author's meaning.
• Apply client-specific style guides and publishing standards.
• Verify references, citations, abbreviations, tables, figures, and cross-references.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and Editorial teams to deliver projects on schedule.
• Resolve author and client queries, maintain confidentiality, and meet productivity and turnaround targets.

Requirements

• German first-language proficiency with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Bachelor's or master's degree in German, Life Sciences, Health Sciences, Medicine, Pharmacy, Linguistics, Translation, or a related discipline.
• Strong command of English for understanding source content and editorial instructions.
• Excellent knowledge of German grammar, spelling, punctuation, and editorial conventions.
• At least 2–3 years of experience in health science publishing and German copyediting.
• Experience editing medical, pharmaceutical, life sciences, or scientific manuscripts and familiarity with academic journal or book publishing workflows.
