Electrical Engineer III (Arc Flash)

Location: Remote for candidates residing in AL, AZ, AR, FL, GA, IN, MI, MO, NV, OH, OK, SC, TX, UT, VA, WA, or WV

Salary: $113,900–$137,700 in Virginia; $124,800–$154,000 in Washington

What you will do

• Design electrical systems and perform detailed power system calculations.
• Lead arc flash hazard analyses, short circuit studies, and protective device coordination using SKM, ETAP, or Easy Power.
• Review, sign, and seal project designs in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
• Conduct site visits for data collection, as-built validation, client coordination, inspections, and commissioning.
• Review submittals, RFIs, and change orders; prepare record drawings and electrical specifications.
• Develop internal standards and templates for electrical safety analysis deliverables.

Requirements

• 4+ years of electrical engineering design experience in construction or power systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience designing power systems for data centers, commercial offices, manufacturing, or medical facilities.
• Hands-on experience with arc flash studies, protective device coordination, and short circuit analysis.
• Working knowledge of NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, IEEE 1584, and national and international building codes.
• Proficiency with MS Office, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, BIM, Revit, and power system analysis software.

Nice to have

• Electrical P.E. license or Engineering in Training certification.
• Familiarity with medium-voltage equipment selection and specifications.
• Experience mentoring junior staff.
