Senior Fire Protection Engineer - Mission Critical

What you will do

• Lead the design, implementation, and coordination of fire protection systems for data centers, server farms, telecommunications hubs, command centers, and other mission-critical facilities.
• Design and specify clean agent, inert gas, pre-action sprinkler, fire alarm, smoke detection, and emergency life safety systems.
• Perform hydraulic calculations, fire suppression effectiveness assessments, risk assessments, and system evaluations.
• Develop design criteria, technical specifications, and project documentation in compliance with NFPA, IBC, UL, and local building codes.
• Coordinate fire protection designs with mechanical, electrical, civil, and architectural disciplines, and provide technical support during construction.
• Oversee commissioning, testing, inspections, schedules, budgets, deliverables, and technical presentations while mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 8–12 years of professional fire protection engineering experience focused on mission-critical facilities.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required. CFPS or another fire protection certification is highly desirable.
• In-depth knowledge of mission-critical fire protection design, including clean agent systems, pre-action sprinklers, and smoke detection.
• Expertise in NFPA standards, including NFPA 75, NFPA 76, and NFPA 2001, as well as IBC, UL, and local building codes.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, HydraCAD, hydraulic calculation tools, BIM, commissioning, testing, and inspections.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a related field.
• Experience with FM-200, Novec 1230, inert gas suppression, sustainable fire protection solutions, and international markets.
