Fire Alarm Designers

Location: Phoenix, Arizona, United States; relocation assistance provided.

What you will do

• Lead fire alarm and mass notification system design from concept through construction, including layouts, device placement, riser diagrams, sequences of operation, and battery and voltage-drop calculations.
• Develop code-compliant drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and technical reports using REVIT, AutoCAD, or similar tools.
• Act as the owner's representative during design, construction, commissioning, testing, and acceptance.
• Conduct site assessments and field surveys, and review design, shop drawing, and construction submittals.
• Coordinate with engineers, architects, contractors, authorities having jurisdiction, clients, and internal project teams.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff, including support for NICET development and training.

Requirements

• Five or more years of progressive experience in fire alarm system design, consulting, or inspection.
• Proficiency with REVIT, AutoCAD, or other industry design software.
• Strong working knowledge of NFPA codes, life safety standards, and local jurisdictional requirements.
• Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting client and schedule commitments.

Nice to have

• NICET certification in Fire Alarm Systems, preferably Level II or higher.
• Experience with ASPIRE software.
• Experience with mass notification systems and integrated life safety solutions.
• Significant industry experience in fire alarm design, inspection, or code consulting.
