Linux Operations Engineer (Linux)

What you will do

• Deploy, configure, support, and maintain Linux-based development, test, and production environments.
• Build and rebuild operating environments supporting CloudTV, TVEverywhere, IPVOD, and video delivery systems.
• Develop configuration management, infrastructure provisioning, monitoring, analytics, and troubleshooting tools.
• Monitor system health with OP5, Nagios, Splunk, SiteScope, and related tools; investigate alerts and diagnose root causes.
• Troubleshoot Linux, virtual network, application, storage, and network issues in collaboration with development and operations teams.
• Develop and execute regression, system integration, validation, load, capacity, longevity, and stress testing.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of hands-on experience supporting development activities in a medium-to-large Linux environment.
• Linux systems administration experience with CentOS and Red Hat.
• Experience with configuration management and automation using Chef, Ansible, or Puppet.
• Experience with VMware or OpenStack, storage systems, networking tools, Git, shell scripting, and RPM packaging.
• Programming or scripting experience with Python or Ruby; familiarity with development technologies such as PHP, RoR, Java, or Groovy.
• Junior-to-middle Linux systems administration experience with command-line operations; flexibility for on-call support and Tuesday/Thursday evening work is required.

Nice to have

• Experience administering Cassandra databases.
• Familiarity with SOA, Solr, Splunk, Spark, Nagios, Docker, and streaming media systems.
