Software Development Engineer II (Aerospace)

Location: Greater Seattle Area, United States. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or nationals, U.S. permanent residents, or lawfully admitted refugees or asylees.

Base pay for Washington applicants: $134,961–$188,945.40 per year. Pay ranges may differ by site.

What you will do

• Design and develop software systems and infrastructure using Java, Python, and JavaScript.
• Build web user interfaces with Angular and React.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to create software supporting vehicle development, testing, operations, and launch.
• Integrate and extend commercial products through GraphQL, REST web services, and message queues.
• Resolve installation, deployment, configuration, server-side, and client-side software issues.

Requirements

• At least three years of relevant experience writing software and deploying it to production.
• Experience with typed and untyped programming languages, such as Java, C, Python, or JavaScript.
• Strong knowledge of algorithms and common data structures.
• Ability to write efficient, working code when requirements are incomplete or ambiguous.
• Strong communication skills, openness to feedback, and willingness to take ownership of mistakes.
• Experience coding with AI tools such as Claude Code.

Nice to have

• Experience deploying infrastructure on premises and to Amazon Web Services.
• Experience with Git, Docker, Kubernetes, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or React.
• Experience mentoring software engineers and participating in design and code reviews.
