Collections Representative (Loan Adjustor)

What you will do

• Contact borrowers with delinquent accounts to discuss repayment options and establish payment arrangements.
• Negotiate collection solutions aligned with customer circumstances and bank guidelines.
• Analyze borrower finances and determine collection strategies for assigned portfolios.
• Maintain detailed records of collection actions, communications, payments, and account activity.
• Research and resolve payment discrepancies, misapplied payments, and transaction issues.
• Prepare demand letters and other correspondence, coordinate with internal teams, and initiate legal recovery actions when instructed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Level I: at least 1 year of customer service, collections, or related experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication, negotiation, customer service, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to use a personal computer and job-related software; basic Microsoft Word and PowerPoint skills and intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
• Knowledge of foreclosure, repossession, and fair-debt laws is preferred.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; employment-based visa sponsorship is not provided.

Nice to have

• Three or more years of collections or loan servicing experience for Level II.
• Advanced collections, recovery, or complex account management experience for Level III.
