Location: Portland, Maine, United States; territory covers Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine. The role requires approximately 20–30% travel, including some overnight and weekend commitments. Relocation is not offered.
Salary: Account Manager Level 4: $145,311–$196,597 annual base salary; Specialty Account Manager Level 5: $158,931–$215,025 annual base salary.

What you will do
- Represent products to physicians and healthcare professionals across the assigned territory.
- Achieve sales objectives through patient-centered disease and product education while following compliance requirements.
- Develop and execute strategic account business plans and manage healthcare accounts across academic institutions, IDNs, accountable care organizations, private practices, and community hospitals.
- Collaborate with case managers, patient access, medical affairs, market access, reimbursement, and other cross-functional partners.
- Build relationships with local, regional, and national key opinion leaders.
- Provide complex rare disease and therapeutic education using a consultative, solution-oriented selling approach.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of relevant sales experience for Account Manager Level 4, or equivalent education and experience combinations listed in the posting.
- Doctorate degree and 2 years, master’s degree and 6 years, bachelor’s degree and 8 years, or associate degree and 10 years of collective account management, sales, and commercial experience for Specialty Account Manager Level 5.
- Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, hospital, specialty pharmaceutical, or rare disease sales.
- Experience with matrix selling and collaboration across patient services, market access, medical affairs, and reimbursement.
- Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, analytical, interpersonal, and computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and travel approximately 20–30%.
Nice to have
- Rare disease, orphan drug, ultra-orphan, or rare disease launch experience.
- Nephrology experience.
- Experience selling in-office injections or infusions requiring extensive patient access coordination.
- Market development, deep profiling in rare unmet disease areas, and educating HCPs about complex diseases.
