Principal Application Engineer

Location: Vienna, Virginia, United States (hybrid); Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM.

Salary: $150,100-$206,450 annually.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and optimize software applications using complex programming languages, frameworks, and web technologies.
• Translate complex business requirements into technical specifications and scalable solutions in collaboration with engineers and stakeholders.
• Write maintainable code and apply data structures, algorithms, and development best practices to improve performance and user experience.
• Troubleshoot application functionality, performance issues, and bugs, implementing fixes and improvements.
• Conduct code reviews, provide technical feedback, and help develop application engineering practices and procedures.
• Lead medium to large projects, work with senior management, and mentor junior staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• 7-10 years of experience in application or software development engineering.
• Advanced proficiency with SQL, Python, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, modern frameworks, version control, databases, and software development methodologies including Agile.
• Expert problem-solving, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with customer support tools, ticketing systems, and knowledge-base platforms.
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with OCI, AWS, Microsoft Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform.
