Lead Software Development Engineer (Cloud Data Platforms)

What you will do

• Design, develop, and support enterprise applications, platform services, and cloud-native data solutions.
• Build data ingestion and processing capabilities for high-volume batch and streaming workloads.
• Develop APIs, event-driven integrations, distributed systems, and microservices-based solutions.
• Evaluate architectural approaches and select technologies based on business requirements, scalability, reliability, security, cost, and operational supportability.
• Lead design reviews, implementation activities, technical direction, and root-cause analysis for complex production issues.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and provide technical leadership across projects and teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 7+ years of software engineering, platform engineering, or cloud engineering experience.
• Enterprise application development experience with Java and/or Python.
• Experience building and operating enterprise data platforms for high-volume batch and streaming workloads.
• Experience designing and supporting distributed systems and APIs.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and technical leadership skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud-native architecture and Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with Dataflow, Cloud Composer, Bigtable, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Apache Spark, Apigee, and CI/CD practices.
• Knowledge of Spring Boot, REST APIs, data ingestion frameworks, automation, observability, and monitoring.
• Ability to influence technical direction across multiple teams.
