Application Developer II - Private Markets Technology

Location: New York, NY; hybrid work arrangement

Salary: $90,000–$110,000 per year, plus discretionary bonus and comprehensive benefits.

hirify.global's technology team develops applications and data capabilities for private markets investment workflows, portfolio construction, and exposure analytics.

What you will do

• Build and maintain SQL stored procedures, views, queries, schemas, and data models for investment reporting and analytics.
• Develop Python applications and pipelines that ingest files, transform data, and load standardized outputs into the data warehouse.
• Investigate query, performance, and pipeline issues, tracing discrepancies to their root causes.
• Develop portfolio aggregation, performance, and exposure metrics by translating investment logic into tested code.
• Collaborate with investment professionals and internal stakeholders to clarify requirements and deliver actionable solutions.
• Implement unit, integration, and data-quality tests, participate in Agile ceremonies and code reviews, and maintain technical documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, mathematics, a quantitative discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2–4 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong SQL skills, including complex queries, stored procedures, views, window functions, joins, and performance tuning.
• Strong Python skills for pipeline development, data analysis, and scripting, including pandas or NumPy.
• Experience with relational databases, data modeling, data pipelines, testing, Git workflows, and code reviews.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience in financial services, asset management, fintech, or private markets.
• Knowledge of portfolio construction, investment performance, and exposure analytics.
• Experience with FastAPI or other Python web frameworks, React, JavaScript, TypeScript, Tableau, or Power BI.
• Exposure to CI/CD, DevOps tooling, Kubernetes/OpenShift, cloud platforms, or Agile/Scrum environments.
