Distribution and Logistics Optimization Consultant (AI)

Location: Atlanta, Georgia; New York, New York; or Bethesda, Maryland, United States. Hybrid working model combining work from home with on-site presence at client or hirify.global offices; client-facing travel is required.

Salary: $160,000–$177,000 per year

What you will do

• Apply optimization, advanced analytics, and AI to logistics, warehousing, distribution, transportation, and merchandising.
• Develop operations research models using linear and integer programming, network optimization, heuristics, and simulation.
• Support warehouse planning, labor balancing, network optimization, transportation, distribution, assortment, inventory, and category-management decisions.
• Translate operational data and model outputs into recommendations on cost, service, capacity, and productivity.
• Support and help own client technology and analytics implementations from requirements and solution design through testing, deployment, and adoption.
• Communicate findings to technical and business stakeholders.

Requirements

• Degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Supply Chain, Analytics, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in decision analytics, operations research, optimization, or a related quantitative field.
• Strong foundation in optimization and analytical problem-solving.
• Experience working with complex data and translating analysis into business recommendations.
• Exposure to warehouse operations, warehouse design, labor planning, network optimization, transportation, or distribution.
• Strong communication and client-facing skills.
• Fluency in English.
• Client-first mentality, intense work ethic, collaborative spirit, and problem-solving approach.
• Must have authorization to work in the United States without requiring employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Experience in logistics, transportation, warehousing, distribution, merchandising, or category management.
• Experience supporting or owning a technology implementation from the client side.
• Exposure to AI/ML, predictive and prescriptive analytics, or agentic AI applications in operations.
