Associate Director and Director (Broadcasting)

Location: New York, United States; onsite

Salary: $75–$95 per hour, based on experience

What you will do

• Direct live newscasts in collaboration with producers, shaping content flow, tone, structure, and pace.
• Lead on-air talent, technicians, stage crew, and floor directors to deliver clean, dynamic broadcasts.
• Coordinate with News and Creative Services to develop ideas and maximize studio and graphics capabilities.
• Traffic video and graphic elements in rundowns and cue video through Bit Central playout.
• Coordinate with Master Control on break timing, including changes during breaking news.
• Work with Line Producers on show and segment timing while troubleshooting broadcast issues.

Requirements

• Five or more years of professional live broadcast television directing experience.
• In-depth knowledge of studio and remote broadcasting technology, including steadicam, robotic cameras, servers, and graphics systems.
• Ability to collaborate, multitask, solve problems, think quickly, and troubleshoot operational issues.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other common business software.
• Availability for mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
• DGA position; union membership is required.

Nice to have

• ENPS experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications or a related field.
