What you will do

• Lead an independent research program in small-ruminant molecular reproduction, including study design, experimental oversight, systems physiology integration, and strategic direction.
• Oversee laboratory operations, research staff, students, workflow, compliance, equipment, and program meetings.
• Develop grant proposals, manage sponsored research, and pursue external funding to sustain and expand the research program.
• Establish and support the buck testing program at the International Goat Research Center, including reproductive evaluation and herd fertility assessment.
• Contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching, course development, student mentoring, extension programming, producer education, and community engagement.
• Publish findings, present at scientific meetings, collaborate across animal systems programs, and participate in professional organizations.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Veterinary Medical Sciences, Molecular Genetics, Reproductive Physiology, Animal Science, or a related field.
• Seven years of related experience.
• Distinguished record of scholarly research, publications, external research grants, and professional achievements in male fertility.
• Experience with advanced microscopy, computer-assisted sperm analyzer systems, IVF procedures, immunocytochemistry, molecular biology, genomics, flow cytometry, and sperm cryopreservation.
• Experience with animal handling, sheep and goat reproductive management, blood collection and plasma separation, ELISA, pregnancy diagnosis, estrous synchronization, and artificial insemination.
• Employment is based in Prairie View, Texas; immigration sponsorship may be affected by current H-1B fee and filing restrictions.
