Design Project Manager (Architecture)

Location: Chicago office, United States

Annual salary: $99,000–$120,000, with potential additional commission or incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Manage design and construction-phase project management activities across multiple projects.
• Develop project management plans, design schedules, resource plans, budgets, and workload plans.
• Lead design, owner/client, and project team meetings; establish agendas and communicate decisions and next steps.
• Coordinate internal resources and consultants, including proposals, contracts, scopes, and team hours in Deltek.
• Track project scope, open items, priorities, milestones, and deliverables to ensure accurate and timely completion.
• Lead, supervise, mentor, and provide feedback to junior staff while supporting design excellence, execution, and profitability.

Requirements

• Verification of employment eligibility to work in the United States is required.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture.
• Relevant professional experience managing multiple projects.
• Strong understanding of project scheduling, budgeting, resource management, and workload management.
• Experience leading and coordinating diverse teams through collaborative leadership.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice to have

• 10 or more years of experience.
• Knowledge of Excel, Procore, Deltek, and other project management software.
• Working knowledge of Revit and Bluebeam.
• Architectural licensure, LEED AP or WELL AP certification, and/or PMP certification.
