Software Systems Engineer Product Owner (Engagement Operations)

Location: Huntsville, Alabama, United States; less than 10% travel required

What you will do

• Prioritize and validate software development for the Air and Missile Defense Engagement Operations team.
• Review systems engineering concepts, designs, and algorithms and provide guidance to software developers.
• Set capability and defect priorities with program management for product increments and sprints.
• Oversee the Engagement Operations software development team and verify work against acceptance criteria.
• Brief and advise leadership on status, competing capabilities, performance, risks, impacts, and recommended courses of action.

Requirements

• US citizenship required.
• Must obtain a Secret security clearance or higher.
• At least 10 years of combined Government or Department of Defense experience performing the essential duties.
• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in engineering, science, or mathematics from an accredited college; ABET accreditation preferred.
• Basic understanding of Engagement Operations, including engagement planning and scheduling, threat evaluation, target selection, battlespace prediction, and sensor resource management.
• Experience working directly with Agile software developers and fluency with Microsoft Office.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of IBCS, PATRIOT, MEADS, THAAD, C2BMC, AEGIS, or current Engagement Operations implementations in the Department of Defense.
• Prior Product Owner experience on a Scrum team.
