BMDS Systems Engineer (Defense)

Location: Huntsville, Alabama, United States; on-site in a closed-area environment

What you will do

• Develop, decompose, allocate, trace, and verify system and software requirements.
• Create and maintain specifications, Interface Control Documents, architecture descriptions, use cases, and trade studies.
• Apply Model-Based Systems Engineering practices and tools such as Cameo and DOORS.
• Collaborate with Agile/Scrum software development and test teams to deliver and verify technical capabilities.
• Conduct technical analyses, support design reviews, and contribute to integration and test readiness.
• Depending on experience, serve as Product Owner, lead or mentor technical teams, and develop or evaluate physics- and mathematics-based algorithms using MATLAB, Python, or similar tools.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Active Secret security clearance is required for consideration.
• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university.
• Experience in systems engineering, software development, algorithm development, data analysis, or a related technical area.
• Understanding of systems engineering principles, lifecycle practices, requirements development, and verification.
• Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams, with strong analytical and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with systems engineering artifacts, architecture modeling, algorithms, modeling and simulation, performance analysis, or optimization.
• Agile, Product Owner, MBSE, or INCOSE systems engineering certifications.
• Experience with Unix/Linux environments or scripting languages.
• Background in large-scale, complex defense or aerospace systems.
