Forward Deployed Engineer III - Eng (AI)

Location: Seattle, WA, United States

Salary: $102,300–$169,000 per year, plus potential performance-based bonus and restricted stock unit awards.

What you will do

• Partner with customers to understand complex HCM, Payroll, and Workforce Management challenges and identify opportunities for software and AI solutions.
• Own technical delivery for customer workstreams from discovery and design through implementation, testing, go-live, and operational handoff.
• Build production-grade software components, APIs, integrations, event-driven workflows, data pipelines, and automation.
• Prototype and implement AI-enabled workflows, including intelligent intake, summarization, routing, recommendations, data extraction, and human-in-the-loop review.
• Translate ambiguous business needs into technical designs, implementation plans, and operational runbooks.
• Create reusable templates, reference architectures, implementation notes, and internal tools while collaborating with Product and Engineering.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building software, cloud applications, AI-enabled products, technical solutions, or production integrations.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals covering APIs, cloud services, data flows, testing, deployment, monitoring, and debugging.
• Experience building and deploying production systems or customer-facing technical solutions.
• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP and hands-on experience with AI-enabled tools, LLMs, copilots, workflow automation, or agentic patterns.
• Ability to work through ambiguity, translate business requirements into practical solutions, and communicate technical tradeoffs clearly with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Sound judgment around security, privacy, compliance, responsible AI use, access controls, evaluation, monitoring, and failure modes.

Nice to have

• Experience with HCM, Payroll, Workforce Management, ERP, IAM, SSO, or integration-heavy environments.
• Experience with REST APIs, event-driven systems, ETL/ELT, data pipelines, workflow orchestration, or identity integrations.
• Experience creating reusable frameworks, templates, internal tools, or reference architectures.
• Familiarity with agent patterns such as tools, orchestration, retrieval, evaluation, and human-in-the-loop controls.
• Experience working directly with customers, users, or business stakeholders to turn ambiguous needs into working software.
