Software Engineering Lead (AI)

What you will do

• Lead a full-stack engineering team of up to seven direct reports responsible for the global tender management ecosystem.
• Set the technical vision, standards, and priorities for a specialized eCommerce domain.
• Oversee planning, execution, and delivery of features involving multiple systems, services, and enterprise integrations.
• Collaborate with product owners, scrum masters, customers, and technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Coach team members and manage recruiting, performance reviews, promotions, and career planning.
• Spend approximately 40% of the time contributing to the codebase, reviewing designs, and participating in code reviews.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience or equivalent knowledge.
• Experience managing engineering teams and developing team members professionally.
• Experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another major cloud provider, plus Infrastructure as Code such as Terraform or AWS CDK.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, React or a similar framework, and an object-oriented language such as Java, C, C++, or Python.
• Experience with microservices, API design, systems integration, cloud security, modern databases, CI/CD, and DevOps principles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English; hybrid work in Barcelona.

Nice to have

• Experience with Salesforce, Informatica, Snowflake, or Mulesoft.
• Experience using Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, or similar AI development tools.
• Experience integrating agentic AI and ML models into enterprise production systems.
• Experience managing globally distributed teams.
