TL;DR
CTO (AI/IoT): Owning the technical vision for an AI-powered smart home intelligence platform that detects property anomalies, optimizes energy usage, and manages connected systems with an accent on IoT, embedded systems, cloud architecture, and production AI/ML. Focus on designing scalable systems, building the engineering team, solving critical technical problems hands-on, and balancing long-term innovation with near-term product execution.
Location: On-site in the Balearic Islands, Spain, with ties to Munich, Germany; multiple Spanish and German city hubs considered
Salary: €60,000–€100,000 annually, discussed case by case

is an early-stage AI-powered smart home intelligence startup developing technology for anomaly detection, energy optimization, and connected-system management.
What you will do
- Own and continuously evolve the technical architecture across IoT, cloud, and AI/ML layers.
- Lead, grow, and mentor the engineering team while establishing engineering culture.
- Drive the product roadmap from a technical perspective, balancing innovation with execution.
- Write production code and solve critical technical problems hands-on.
- Present the technical vision to investors, partners, and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering or technical leadership experience, including 3+ years in senior technical leadership roles.
- Proven 0-to-1 startup experience as a co-founder or early-stage CTO.
- Strong IoT and embedded systems background with experience shipping real products.
- Cloud architecture expertise, preferably AWS, with experience designing and deploying scalable systems.
- Practical AI/ML product experience in production systems and hands-on coding ability.
- Experience integrating hardware and software systems, with familiarity across React, Docker, Kubernetes, Raspberry Pi, ThingsBoard, and AI/ML tooling.
Nice to have
- Experience in smart home, building technology, or energy management.
- German or Spanish language proficiency.
