CAD Designer

What you will do

• Produce accurate 2D and 3D detail drawings for customer approval, fabrication, and construction.
• Prepare drawings and bills of material for plate structures, foundations, structural components, and associated piping.
• Apply applicable design codes, company standards, customer specifications, and steel detailing practices.
• Review drawings and bills of material against as-sold estimates and communicate discrepancies to the project team.
• Use drawing-generation programs, document management systems, and collaboration tools.
• Estimate task durations, commit to deadlines, and communicate progress and status.

Requirements

• 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Two-year technical diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Construction Technology.
• Proficiency in 2D and/or 3D CAD platforms such as MicroStation and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of steel detailing practices, industry conventions, geometry, trigonometry, unit conversions, quantity take-offs, and basic bills of material.
• Strong written and verbal communication, analytical, problem-solving, multitasking, and deadline-management skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Tekla.
