Postdoctoral Research Associate (Metabolic Disease and Multi-Omics): Designing and executing animal feeding studies and biochemical, molecular, and phytochemical analyses of serum samples to investigate diet, obesity, nutrition, and lifestyle interventions in chronic metabolic diseases with an accent on polyphenol-enriched plant systems, genome regulation, and biomarker discovery. Focus on developing multi-omics and proteomics approaches, analyzing complex research data, and leading peer-reviewed publications and collaborative initiatives.

Location: College Station, Texas, United States

Salary: $4,583.34 monthly

What you will do

  • Design and execute research experiments in consultation with the principal investigator.
  • Conduct animal feeding studies using polyphenol-enriched plant systems and polyphenol-rich diets.
  • Perform biochemical, molecular, phytochemical, clinical-sample, statistical, multi-omics, and proteomics analyses.
  • Develop hypotheses, experimental approaches, and data-analysis methods for chronic metabolic disease research.
  • Analyze data, summarize results, prepare technical progress reports, and present findings.
  • Lead the writing and communication of peer-reviewed research publications and collaborate with USDA-ARS scientists and institute members.

Requirements

  • PhD in preclinical mouse models, physiology, biochemistry, or epidemiology.
  • Strong presentation, analytical, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a supportive research environment.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask and establish effective working relationships.
  • Ability to lift or move light, moderate, and heavy objects and exert light force.
  • Flexible schedule for occasional work outside normal office hours; travel may be required.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with preclinical models and samples from mice.
