Senior Embedded Software Engineer (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Design and implement embedded software from requirements through production and commercial deployment.
• Develop, test, debug, document, and review system software and designs.
• Build and integrate software for Linux-based single-board computers, microcontrollers, and hardware subsystems.
• Analyze software efficiency, stability, scalability, I/O performance, and system resource management.
• Integrate and validate new product designs while supporting software quality assurance and high-reliability qualification.
• Provide post-production and in-orbit customer support, present design reviews, and collaborate with hardware engineers and customers.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship, permanent residency, protected status, or eligibility to obtain required U.S. government authorizations.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
• At least 5 years of industry experience in software development.
• Hands-on embedded hardware development and troubleshooting, including API design for FPGA interfaces.
• Experience with aerospace products, C or C++, preemptive multitasking real-time operating systems, and real-time system coding techniques.
• Knowledge of IP protocols, interfaces, hardware subsystems, multithreaded applications, resource management, configuration management, defect tracking, and peer review.

Nice to have

• Experience with real-time Linux, ARM processors, fully featured microcontrollers, and software development kit design.
• Ability to read electronics schematics and component data sheets.
