Avionics Software Engineer III (Embedded)

Location: Endicott, New York, United States; on-site and near-site work

Salary: $73,923.20–$105,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Integrate and verify embedded avionics software for engine and flight-control systems.
• Develop and execute C-based and customer-specific software test scripts in laboratory simulation environments.
• Create formal requirements-based test procedures and test cases.
• Perform requirements reviews, simulation testing, and system-level testing.
• Use emulators and debuggers for low-level system control and hardware/software debugging.
• Trace requirements, procedures, and results in configuration-management systems through DOORS to support DO-178C compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 3+ years of related experience.
• Experience with C, Linux shell scripts, or similar software test scripts.
• Experience developing formal requirements, software test cases, and test procedures.
• Experience debugging hardware and software in embedded control systems.
• Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills for collaboration with suppliers, clients, and colleagues.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance.

Nice to have

• Laboratory integration experience and familiarity with VectorCast or Green Hills.
• Python or other test-equipment scripting experience.
• Experience with GitHub, Synergy, or DOORS configuration systems.
