Director, Global Logistics (Pharmaceuticals)

Location: Bridgewater, New Jersey, United States; hybrid with in-person presence 2–3 days per week. Occasional travel of approximately 10%–20% is required.

What you will do

• Develop and execute global logistics strategies supporting commercial, clinical, and R&D operations.
• Lead logistics managers, manage departmental budgets, and drive vendor performance through KPIs and governance.
• Oversee domestic and international transportation, warehousing, distribution, and temperature-controlled shipments.
• Manage import/export, customs, trade compliance, tariffs, sanctions, and Good Distribution Practices requirements.
• Lead disruption management, business continuity planning, product launches, manufacturing transfers, CDMO onboarding, and warehouse implementations.
• Optimize transportation networks, inventory positioning, distribution strategies, and total landed cost while partnering with cross-functional stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or operations within biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industries.
• Experience supporting commercial product distribution and logistics operations across multiple regions and external manufacturing partners.
• Leadership experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
• Strong knowledge of global transportation, warehousing, import/export operations, pharmaceutical GDP, and temperature-controlled shipments.
• Experience with vendor management, supplier governance, budgeting, forecasting, cost optimization, negotiation, and executive communication.
• Ability to work in person at the Bridgewater, New Jersey office 2–3 days per week.

Nice to have

• MBA or master’s degree in supply chain, logistics, engineering, business, or a related discipline.
• Experience with clinical supply chains, R&D operations, CDMOs, third-party logistics providers, global product launches, or rare and specialty pharmaceuticals.
• Knowledge of cold chain logistics, clinical trial logistics, customs valuation, trade compliance, and dangerous goods transportation.
