Engineering Technologist II (Utility)

Location: Matthews, North Carolina; hybrid work from remote and onsite locations after onboarding. Employees must live within a reasonable commute of no more than 50 miles one way to the designated hirify.global facility.

What you will do

• Identify, analyze, and resolve complex technical problems within the assigned area of expertise.
• Plan, organize, estimate, schedule, and monitor work activities to support business goals.
• Prepare technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and sketches.
• Conduct engineering and related studies.
• Coordinate work activities, maintain accurate records, and communicate with stakeholders.
• Support storm duty operations and travel as required.

Requirements

• One of the following: a bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology or equivalent; an associate degree in Engineering Technology plus 2 or more years of experience; or 6 or more years of equivalent experience without a degree.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable, consistent transportation.
• Ability to work lawfully in the United States without employment-based immigration sponsorship now or in the future.
• Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement and commute no more than 50 miles one way to the designated facility.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology.
• Experience in the utility industry.
• Understanding of basic project management principles.
