Lead Engineer, Distribution Engineering (Electrical Utility)

Location: Dorchester, Massachusetts, United States; hybrid schedule with at least three days per week in the office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Travel between Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire may be required.

Annual salary: $145,670–$161,860, plus potential incentive.

What you will do

• Lead the strategic development, expansion, planning, design, maintenance, and operation of overhead and underground distribution systems.
• Supervise, coach, assign, prioritize, and review the work of engineers and design staff.
• Develop, justify, and approve multi-year Life Cycle Plan activities and ongoing distribution projects.
• Oversee reliability analysis, equipment-condition monitoring, system-event trending, and root-cause analysis.
• Prepare engineering designs, system specifications, permits, customer notifications, standards, and operating procedures.
• Provide technical direction during normal operations, emergencies, storm response, and unplanned maintenance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Eight to ten years of experience in the technical, operational, or engineering aspects of the electrical utility industry.
• Ability to independently develop, present, and execute projects in collaboration with other departments.
• Ability to supervise and direct at least two FTE engineers, or one FTE engineer and one FTE designer.
• Familiarity with utility power systems and power-related software is preferred.
• Visa sponsorship is not available; applicants requiring immigration-related sponsorship to start employment will not be considered. A valid driver’s license is required.
