Lead UX Behavioral Scientist (AI)

Location: Lowell, Massachusetts, United States

Salary: $145,600–$209,300 annual base pay, plus potential performance-based bonus and restricted stock unit awards.

What you will do

• Lead quantitative and behavioral research using product telemetry, log data, and user sentiment to analyze adoption, reliance, intent, outcomes, friction, and abandonment.
• Design behavioral telemetry, instrumentation, measurement frameworks, dashboards, and metrics for trust, reliance, sustained usage, and value realization.
• Lead causal and experimental research, including A/B tests and quasi-experiments, to evaluate features, nudges, defaults, and automation levels.
• Partner with Product, Product Operations, Data Science, Engineering, and UX teams to build scalable behavioral data and experimentation systems.
• Translate behavioral data into product strategy and decision frameworks focused on time-to-value, confidence-to-action, and appropriate AI reliance.
• Provide thought leadership and mentor researchers in quantitative methods, advanced analytics, experimentation, and behavioral science.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in behavioral research, behavioral analytics, data science, or a related field within digital product environments.
• Hands-on experience building research data infrastructure, instrumentation, reporting frameworks, and dashboards for AI-first product organizations.
• Expertise in experimentation, predictive modeling, segmentation and cluster analysis, conjoint modeling, and behavioral telemetry analysis.
• Experience with AI-assisted and conversational experiences, including familiarity with ML, NLP, conversational analytics, and intent modeling.
• Strong SQL skills and experience analyzing large-scale behavioral and product datasets; familiarity with PowerBI, QuickSight, Looker, Tableau, Claude, and AI-assisted analytics platforms.
• Ability to translate complex data into actionable recommendations and influence product strategy across cross-functional teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with enterprise SaaS, workforce technology, HR technology, or AI-enabled productivity platforms.
• Experience with PowerBI is preferred.
