Selling Design Associate (Interior Design)

Location: Gurnee, Illinois, United States; onsite retail store role

Compensation: $16 per hour during 2–6 weeks of training; post-training base pay of $13 per hour, plus uncapped commissions and bonuses. Average annual earning potential after training: $45,000–$65,000+.

What you will do

• Sell furniture, accessories, and services while contributing to store sales goals.
• Schedule and conduct professional home consultations with customized room designs, fabric samples, furniture, tables, accessories, and installation recommendations.
• Apply the hirify.global selling process, including needs discovery, presentations, objection handling, closing, follow-up, and after-sale service.
• Build long-term customer relationships, respond to calls and emails, and resolve customer issues.
• Support the Designer and promote the Design program and its sales goals.
• Maintain showroom displays, complete orders and payment records, schedule deliveries, and open or close the store.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous selling experience and the ability to close sales are strongly preferred.
• Excellent communication, customer service, organizational, interpersonal, persuasion, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage time, competing priorities, and store schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, pass background and drug screening, and meet any applicable driver program requirements.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field.
