What you will do

• Develop and enhance integration and automation features in SEL products.
• Define and analyze product specifications, functional tests, and system validation processes.
• Diagnose customer-reported issues involving integration and communication features and document findings for developers.
• Perform technical and market analysis for proposed products and enhancements.
• Mentor Associate Engineers and Technicians.
• Apply SEL operating principles and World Class Manufacturing practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
• Experience with serial, Ethernet, and multiple communication protocols in electrical power system environments.
• Typically 2+ years of experience configuring network devices and interfaces.
• Typically 2+ years of experience at an electric utility, industrial plant, or engineering firm.
• Strong writing, documentation, speaking, customer collaboration, learning, and teamwork skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with electric power SCADA or EMS practices.
• Experience contributing to product development teams.
• Knowledge of SEL products and protocols, electric utility telecommunications, IEC 61850, IEC 60870-103/101/104, DNP3, Modbus, PRP, and IEEE 1588.
• Knowledge of three-phase and electric power systems, utility protection practices, NERC-CIP compliance, industrial controls, and PLCs.
