Automation & Network Engineer (PLC)

Location: Louisville, Kentucky, USA; onsite

Salary: $82,602–$110,136 annually, including base salary and annual incentive bonus

What you will do

• Support the selection, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of instrumentation, PLC, SCADA, and DCS systems.
• Maintain OT network infrastructure, cybersecurity controls, data backups, and IT/OT compliance.
• Support PIMS/historian, data analytics, IIoT, and other digitalization initiatives.
• Develop and maintain control logic, interlocks, and Safety Instrumented System functions.
• Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Technical, and Maintenance teams on capital and continuous improvement projects.
• Coordinate with vendors, support procurement, and ensure automation activities meet safety and environmental standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Instrumentation/Automation, or equivalent education and experience.
• At least one year of experience as a field technician or PLC programmer in a chemical or industrial plant environment, focused on instrument and controls installation.
• Familiarity with GE Cimplicity, Machine Edition, and industrial communication protocols such as Profibus, Profinet, Genius, TCP/IP, Modbus TCP/IP, and Serial.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to manage multiple projects or tasks.
• Dependability, punctuality, results orientation, and willingness to learn; training and mentorship are available for candidates without direct PLC brand experience.
