Software Engineer I (Java/Spring)

Location: United States — Remote

Salary: $80,500–$92,000 USD annually for Zone 1; compensation varies by geo zone, experience, qualifications, and role requirements.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable backend applications using Java, Spring Boot, and cloud technologies.
• Help modernize the Practice Management platform through architectural solutions aligned with business needs.
• Build, test, and maintain critical services that support product features and improve team efficiency.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and cross-functional teams on technical direction and solution architecture.
• Participate in code reviews and Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
• Research emerging technologies and use AI tools to improve development processes and product quality.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 0–1 years of professional software development experience; internship experience is desirable.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms.
• Strong problem-solving, performance optimization, scalability, and communication skills.
• Strong interest or hands-on experience in AI-focused development, including LLM APIs, prompt engineering, or local AI tools and frameworks.

Nice to have

• Experience with Spring, version control, and relational databases.
• Hands-on experience with Python and frameworks such as Django, FastAPI, or Flask.
